About the city

The University is located in the Asian side of Istanbul in Ataşehir district, which is considered one of the most distinguished areas of Asian Istanbul.

Istanbul has a population of 18 million people, and more than 6 million foreigners live in the city. The city’s climate is cold in winter and moderate in summer. It consists of two parts, European and Asian, separated by the Bosphorus Strait and connected by three bridges and an undersea tunnel.

The Asian side of Istanbul is considered the modern face of the city, with an abundance of modern buildings and wide streets that are rarely seen in the European side of Istanbul. This part is relatively quiet and less crowded compared to the other side, and it is rich in green spaces and is a center for many global companies.

The Asian side of Istanbul contains many tourist attractions, including the Kadıköy district, which is considered similar to the Taksim district. The Maiden’s Tower and the Üsküdar district are also located there. The Bosphorus waterfront on the Asian side is the widest, so there are many cafes, squares, and parks, such as the Emirgan Park and the Mihrabat Park overlooking the Bosphorus. There are also many palaces along the Bosphorus dating back to the Ottoman era, such as the Beylerbeyi Palace, Küçüksu Palace, and Çubuklu Palace. It also includes many historical buildings such as Haydarpaşa Garı and Selimiye Kışlası.

The Asian side also has many Ottoman mosques, including the Çamlıca Mosque, which is one of the largest Turkish mosques and is located on the Çamlıca Hill overlooking the Bosphorus, which is known to the Arab community as the “Bride’s Hill”. One of the most famous streets on the Asian side of Istanbul is Baghdad Street, which is considered one of the most luxurious streets in Istanbul.

About tourist and entertainment places

The university provides many sports clubs, playgrounds, sports halls, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Medical activities are also frequent on campus due to the availability of green spaces.
