Yashar University was established on March 23, 2001, by the Yashar Cultural Endowment, which is affiliated with the Yashar Holding Company. The university includes ten faculties, including the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Management and Economics, as well as four technical institutes and a graduate school for master’s and doctoral degrees.

General information about Yaşar University
The university comprises 490 faculty members in addition to over 8,454 students from various disciplines, including more than 150 foreign students from different nationalities.
The university houses 11 research centers in engineering and management fields. Additionally, it includes 111 technical laboratories specializing in engineering and technology to support theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
The university excels in engineering and management specialties. As a subsidiary of Yashar Holding Company, it has 25 factories and laboratories in Izmir city, providing employment opportunities within those factories for its graduates.
The university supports the Erasmus scholarship for student exchange with 200 academic programs with European universities, with Hungarian universities at the forefront. It also supports student exchange with 50 universities in the United States.
The university provides an opportunity for diligent undergraduate students to study two majors simultaneously after achieving a suitable GPA, allowing students to graduate with two academic degrees simultaneously.
Advantages of Yaşar University
The university provides its students with numerous sports clubs such as swimming, rowing, and shooting to fill their leisure time, as well as many sports halls, courts, and pools for its students, in addition to various student activities within the campus.
In the Bornova area, there are many palaces and houses dating back to the founding era of the Republic of Turkey, which can be visited during leisure time. Also, in neighborhoods of the Bornova area, there are numerous shopping centers and natural parks.
The Syrian community is concentrated in the Buca and Konak areas, where Arab restaurants and cafes abound. In the Buca area, there are many entertainment venues such as Lake Buca and archaeological sites and monasteries such as the Protestant Church.
The Konak area is one of the historical and touristic areas close to the Bornova area, where the historical Izmir Clock Tower is located, in addition to the historical Kemeraltı Market and the Ottoman Yalı Mosque. There is also a museum and cultural garden in Izmir.

University Facilities and Equipment
The university is located in the Bornova area, which sits on the plateau of the Yaman mountain range. The area is known for its heritage houses and palaces with a relatively high population, leading to the concentration of two universities in this area, Yashar University and Ege University.
Government housing is prevalent in the city of Izmir, and all universities share government housing. The city has six government universities where admission is based on conditions set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with monthly fees starting from $50.
The university provides its own student accommodation. It is advisable to apply for university admission early and submit a request for accommodation registration due to the high demand in the eighth month of each year. The dormitory fees start from $2000 per academic year.
Private accommodations are abundant in the Bornava area due to the presence of both Ege and Yashar universities, whether for males or females. The accommodation fees start from $2000 per academic year.
The Bornava area is relatively expensive, so students with limited income are advised to reside in accommodations in the Buca or Konak areas.
Students can settle in residential apartments in the Buca or Konak areas, which are considered affordable neighborhoods, with apartment fees starting from $150 per month.
