Nişantaşı University was founded on September 9, 2009 by the Nişantaşı Culture and Education Foundation. It is considered a third-generation university and has the largest closed campus in continental Europe. It comprises five faculties, including the newly opened Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Faculty of Engineering. It also has six vocational schools and a graduate school for master’s and doctoral programs.

The university has a closed campus in Maslak. It is located within a distinguished residential complex that provides all the daily needs and many international cafes.
The university does not have its own dormitory, so private housing is the first choice for students. The existing housing in the area is modern and has new buildings with fees starting from 2500 USD per month.
Apartments in the area are a second option for students due to their high monthly fees which start from 700 USD per month. Therefore, students can live in many areas of Istanbul such as Mecidiyeköy and Şişli and reach the university using the metro and public buses.
