The university is located in the Asian side of Istanbul city at the exit of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on the Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Asian and European sides of Istanbul city. It consists of three campuses, and the northern and southern campuses in the Beykoz region are considered the main campuses, while there is a campus in the European side in the Bayrakli Valley region, which includes the Faculty of Dentistry and teaches some health specialties, and a third campus in the Bagcilar region, which includes the Faculty of Medicine.

The population of Istanbul is 18 million people, and more than 6 million foreigners live in the city. The city’s climate is cold in winter and moderate in summer. The Asian side of Istanbul city is considered the modern face of the city, with many modern buildings and wide streets that are rarely seen in the European side of Istanbul city. This section is relatively quiet and less crowded compared to the second section, and it is rich in green spaces and is a center for many international companies.

The Asian side of Istanbul city contains many tourist places, including the Kadikoy district, which is considered similar to the Taksim district, and the Maiden’s Tower is located in the Uskudar district. The Bosphorus Corniche on the Asian side is the widest, so it is rich in cafes, squares and gardens such as Beykoz Park and Mihrabat Park overlooking the Bosphorus Strait. There are also many palaces along the Bosphorus Strait dating back to the Ottoman era, such as Beylerbeyi Palace, Küçüksu Palace and Çubuklu Palace.
