Galatasaray University was established on 17.02.2011 as a university affiliated with the Galatasaray Education and Culture Foundation to be one of the leading universities that strives to develop and improve its staff year after year to be included in the classification of distinguished universities worldwide. It includes six faculties, the most important of which are the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Engineering, two technical institutes, and two higher institutes for the postgraduate studies stage.

Istanbul Gelişim University General Information
University includes 1348 members of the teaching staff in addition to more than 31612 male and female students for different specialties, including 1200 foreign students from different nationalities, headed by students from the African continent, students from Palestine, Yemen and Egypt.
The university contains 22 research centers, the most important of which are the Oral and Dental Health and Computer Technology Center. The university also includes 125 research laboratories for most of the specialties taught at the university, which primarily aim to support theoretical education with the practical aspect to create university graduates capable of keeping pace with the labor market.
The university is distinguished by its excellence in engineering specialties, headed by electrical and electronics engineering, mechatronics, aircraft engineering and aviation management, in addition to administrative specialties such as business administration and political science.

Akreditasyon
For academic accreditation, as most of the university majors at Gelişim University are accredited in Germany, Britain and the United States of America.
It also supports the AHPGS program
To accredit medical specialties in the European Union countries, it also supports the Erasmus program for student exchange with 105 universities from the European Union.
The university allows its hard-working students for the undergraduate stage the opportunity to study two university majors at the same time after achieving an appropriate rate so that the student can graduate with two degrees at the same time.

The European part of Istanbul, where the university is located, is a center for most tourist areas. The university is 40 minutes away from the Sultanahmet area and can be reached by metrobus and tram. The coastal area of Üsküdar on the Asian side can be reached using the Marmaray metro.
There are many cafes and shopping malls near the university, located in Cihangir, Harami Dere, and Beylikdüzü. Florya Beach is also relatively close to the university, and there is a starting point for the Aqua Marine Water Park near the university. Students can also visit the Syrian, Iraqi, and Yemeni cafes and restaurants in this area.

The university is located in the European part of Istanbul, in the Avcilar district, near the main highway, making it easy to access from different parts of Istanbul.

University Facilities and Equipment
The main campus is located in the Avcılar district, close to the metrobus station. Avcılar is considered a quiet area, and the Iraqi community is mainly concentrated in this area.
Due to the proximity of the university to the metrobus station, students can live in areas outside of Avcılar, such as Beylikdüzü, Esenyurt, and Yenibosna, all the way to Şirinevler.
The university does not have its own dormitories, so private dormitories are the first choice for international students. Dormitory fees start at $2,000 per academic year, while apartment fees start at $300 per month.
