Altinbaş University was founded in 2008 by one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates, Altinbaş Holding, under the auspices of the Altinbaş Foundation for Education and Culture, established by Mohammed Altinbaş. The university began admitting students in 2011, continuing its ongoing efforts to prepare many young people for the job market. It offers 9 academic majors, a vocational school, a graduate school, and 27 research centers, providing them with training simulations for their future professional careers.

Altınbaş University is located on the European side of Istanbul, in the Bağcılar district, in the Mahmutbey neighborhood.
Campuses
Altınbaş University has 3 campuses, each offering diverse activities and functions:
1. Mahmutbey Campus: This is the main campus of Altınbaş University. It houses the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Foreign Languages building, as well as facilities for international conferences, music concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and more.
2. Eyüp Campus for Social Sciences: Located in the Esentepe area of Istanbul, this campus includes the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Business Administration, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences.
3. Bakırköy Health Sciences Campus: Situated in the Bakırköy area of Istanbul, this campus comprises medical specialty faculties such as the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Vocational School of Health Services.
